The IUCN Red List categories and criteria aim to create an easy and clear system for the classification of species at risk of extinction, and it is generally a framework for the likelihood of their extinction risk, although the classification clarifies the division of different species according to the list that focuses on Endangered species are of the first degree, as they are not the only means of identifying priorities and the means to be followed for the conservation and protection of threatened organisms.
The specific objectives of the IUCN Red List categories and standards are as follows:
Providing a unified system that can be applied with the same precision among different users.
Provide users with a clear guide on how to assess factors that affect organisms’ vulnerability to extinction.
Provide a system that allows easy comparisons between different types of organisms.
Provide mechanical classification of living organisms to serve users of threatened species lists.
